When you’re up close you can see the flickering effect, however, just looks like yellowish/orange light at about 15 feet or so.They have a very pleasant flame effect and look very authentic from a distance. I note however that out of the 9 that I put into use immediately. One failed within days. They are left on overnight at my home. They are not expensive and are more reliable than the LED flame flicker bulbs they are replacing.The candle light effect is thoroughly convincing. I'm guessing that about 3 of these light bulbs is equivalent to a single candle flame in a shaded lamp. Perfect for night lighting. All arrived without any damage. I only required 3. Well packed.These lights were perfect and exactly what I ordered. It did take an extraordinarily long time to get this product. I don't know why. It missed my Christmas decorative lighting.I used 2 so far and one only lasted 4 hoursIt gives off almost no light at all. A real candle gives off more light. But it does function and look neat.Don’t last long but beautifulNot enough light to actually use for lighting. But does look like kind of like a real candle flicker. Perfect for very low light Halloween creepy candle effect.This bulb will run for about 1-2 hours then spontaneously shut off for 8-9 hrs. To ensure it was not an issue with the lamp, I put in another bulb from another company which stayed on continously from the time I turned the light on till I switched it off. This product is defective. Will be seeking a return. Worst $15 spent on a 'quality, USA-made' bulb. Have bought elsewhere with zero issues.Love these lights. Out of the three I purchased, however, one burned out after one week of non-continuous use. If the other two fail, I will repost.UPDATE! Second of three burned out. Not fairing too well. With NON-CONTINUOUS use, these should last longer. ESPECIALLY at $11 a pop. Too bad, because I love the effect.UPDATE 2! All three have officially burned out. I got MAX 50 hours out of the LONGEST lasting light. My suggestion: go for a more expensive light (available here on Amazon) advertising 1500 hours, and avoid these.I inherited a set of flickering candle bulbs that I remember from my childhood (60 years ago!). I was delighted to find a new source at Amazon. A few of the old bulbs still work and these new bulbs appear identical when lit. The old bulbs have always been admired and now I can fully decorate the tree with their charming candle like appearance. Hopefully my new grandson will remember them he has babies of his own.It's a neon glow lamp. The electrodes are shaped like a flame, and the glow of the neon plasma flickers randomly across it. It fits in a standard North American socket like any other light bulb. I think it should work in standard European sockets but I'm not positive.It isn't very bright, being only two watts and the colour is neon orange, so this bulb is for decoration or ambience.Out of the box of 25, 3 didn't work and 2 were smashed when I got them. I've had them a week and 3 more have stopped working, leaving me with 17 bulbs out of 25 in a short amount of time. I needed 23 and wanted 2 to have for spare bulbs. This turned out to be a complete waste of money and I've had to go back to using my original bulbs because these are garbage. Don't waste your money on them like I did.
